Infused Water

Living in the South where it is mildly hot for most of the year, it is important to stay hydrated. There are multiple ways to stay hydrated. One being by drinking lots of water and another way is by eating more fruits and vegetables.  Those are the types of food that contain mostly water and are good for the body.

For some time now there has been a trend of infusing fruits and veggies into your water to give you an extra boost. This is called infused water because you are taking pure water and infusing it with natural ingredients that also contain water.  You will be able to drink water with a lovely fruity taste but without all of those extra calories.  There are other drinks such as Gatorade and Vitamin Water that is said to restore the body’s electrolytes but they may not be healthy because of the dyes and sugars that are added.  The infused water contains all natural ingredients and adds to the body.  Below are other benefits to drinking infused water:

  • Your body will be able to transport nutrients and oxygen much better.
  • Less strain on your organs.
  • May see a difference with smoother skin.
  • Water helps to keep your body temperature at optimal levels.
  • Being hydrated can lubricate your joints. Therefore, you may have less joint strain.
  • You should notice having more energy in your muscles.

For those who may be on medication, drink coffee, exercise and drink alcohol, drinking more infused water can counteract from you becoming dehydrated.  Just by adding lemon to your water it can aid with digestion, weight loss, supply a healthy dose of vitamin C, potassium boost and is said to help prevent kidney stones.

When you come to visit Healthy Home Market and Farm 2 Family Foods you can take home an infused water of different flavors.  You can even buy some of our fresh produce and herbs to infuse into your own water at home.  Be healthy and stay hydrated this summer!
