Feel Like A Better You
In light of this week’s Wellness Fair taking place at Healthy Home Market, let’s discuss the key points of wellness. Wellness is defined as an active process through which people become aware of, and make choices toward, a more successful existence.
Ask yourself these questions:
Are you ready to make changes to better health?
Do you want to find the root cause of your symptoms and restore health naturally?
Are you ready for a more personalized approach to treatment?
Many of us have gotten into a routine that when something hurts, take a pill or slap a bandage on it. Wellness transformation may be what you need in order for the problem to go away for good.
The main difference between wellness care and standard medical care is that wellness care seeks to turn on the natural healing ability. Wellness care does not add something to the system, instead it removes anything that might interfere with normal function.
If a patient has high blood pressure, a standard medical approach would be to choose a drug that lowers blood pressure, and ask the patient to take the drug. This may serve to lower the blood pressure, but may ignore the underlying cause that is making the blood pressure high, running the risk of leaving the problem unaddressed and causing the symptom of high blood pressure.
The wellness approach is to look for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments would optimize the conditions for normal function. That environment encourages natural healing, and minimizes the need for invasive treatment, which should be administered only when absolutely necessary.
